SENIOR CONSULTANT, DESIGN MARKETS

Bayes is a technical recruitment practice for the built environment. The role is a 360-degree consulting function; not a role for everyone. It requires genuine curiosity about this market, the discipline to build relationships before they produce results, and the conviction that the right appointment matters more than the fast one.

  • Business development — building and maintaining client relationships through direct outreach, networking, and market presence.

  • Technical search — developing a candidate network across passive and active profiles within the Construction and Design disciplines.

  • Market specialisation — staying current on project pipelines, market movements, and talent conditions across the vertical.

  • Sales management — delivering against monthly and annual billing targets.

Prior familiarity as a recruiter within the built environment matters as the market has a long learning curve. But the role abundantly rewards those who can hold a long view. The compensation structure is generous in rewarding those who perform. While details of the compensation framework are shared at interview, it is our practice to go beyond the market in terms of legality, fairness, and remuneration.

Bayes is deliberately small. The person who joins is not joining an institution, but a practice still being built. That means less process, less hierarchy, and less insulation from the consequences of the work — in both directions. A placement made well is visible. A mandate mishandled is equally visible. There is nowhere to be average quietly, but to have a spirit that is positively hopeful.
